Wind energy is one of the most environmental friendly and sustainable energy sources for large scale production. Norsk Vindenergi AS goal is to make use of Norway’s extensive potential for the development of wind energy, not only to increase Norway’s renewable energy mix, but also through export of renewable energy to European countries to enhance Europe’s energy-security, and as sustainable means to reduce gas emissions. We believe wind power to be one of the most efficient solutions for Europe to meet the demands by EU Renewable Directives.Norsk Vindenergi AS is an independent renewable energy company. Since founded in 1996 we have systematically gained broad experience and expertise in developing wind power projects. Our main business idea is not only to identify optimal wind power sites and develop projects, but also to participate in the building and operation of wind parks.
Our well known project Høg-Jæren Energipark (73, 6 MW) is expected to start full production in 2011. Norsk Vindenergi developed the project until approved concession for construction was granted by NVE (Norges Vann- og Elektrisitetsdirektorat). Thereafter Norsk Vindenergi entered a partnership with Eurus Europe and we now hold a minority share. In addition our company has 9 other projects under development, both domestic and internationally, with the total capacity of 550 MW. Our goal is to establish 2/3 of our project-portfolio in the south-west coast of Norway, and 1/3 located abroad. We are currently involved in projects in Russia, Bulgaria and Tanzania.
